Why I Missed iBlog2
It’s like missing one half of your life. This is how I feel after not making it to the 2nd Philippine Blogging Summit. This could’ve been a great opportunity to learn the rudiments of blogging from the Philippine’s "top bloggers". Top bloggers in the sense that the resource persons are pioneers, experts, successful bloggers in their own right, in their chosen blog categories.
No, I didn’t get lost. Although I am an UST alumnus, I’m very familiar with the UP Diliman campus as I frequently visit high school classmates, Anna, Ginny and Harvey way back in college. And the map was pretty clear.
I even prepared the T-shirts I was supposed to give out to some bloggers during the summit. The Bangus Festival 2006 T-shirts were courtesy of Bitstop. I guess I have to send them through Fed-Ex.

I slept with baby Luke (my wife is still in Manila for her last week of affiliation) and planned to transfer him to my parents’ room before I leave. I was ready to leave at 3 AM (Dagupan City to Manila is about 4-5 hours by bus), when suddenly he opened his eyes, stared and smiled at me. Who could resist a baby’s smile? I also realized that Luke is now 6 months old.
I’m still fortunate because Filipino Librarian live-blogged the event in three installations: 1, 2, 3. By Jove had three entries complete with pictures: 1, 2, 3, 4. Punzi blogged about it as a day of days, and Yuga shared his PowerPoint presentation online.
If missing iBlogs2 was like missing one half of my life, missing Luke’s 6 months-day would be missing MY ENTIRE LIFE.
It was a no contest.

I agree with you. Good thing that there are many participants who are now blogging at what happened in iBlog2. That will greatly help in providing info/insights to folks like you who did not made it. At least, there's always a next time. =)
